DJ is in Brodart slipcover and is quite nice. It is a wrapped picture to the spine; back cover is white with list of the dog books by this publisher. This is book #931 in this series. Minimal wearing on the top/bottom spine; small crease on lower right edge of back cover; 4 flap fold top/bottom have minimal wearing. Inside front flap has been price clipped and is synopsis of this title; back inside flap is synopsis of ' Rusty' a Cocker Spaniel.

Book is blue with dark blue lettering, plain cover. DJ is in a mylar cover and is poor. Chips on the top/bottom of front cover, near the spine, 4 corner flap folds, top/bottom are also chipped. Top/bottom spine , chipping. rubbing along spine edges. Back cover is good and lists other large Platt & Munk books, like Children of Other Lands, etc. 146 pages, all crisp and clean. Great text for supplemental home schooling for geography and social studies.

One of many titles in this popular series from G & D. Copyright date is 1946, but am guessing that it is a late 40's reprint. Book is dark green with series emblelm on front cover in black and the spine also has series emblem and black lettering. Top/bottom spine are slightly rubbed ; 4 corners are VG. Endpapers have impression of the DJ and also slight foxing on the 1st 3 pages including the title page, otherwise all pages clean and tight. Dj is in mylar cover and is poor. Front cover still bright but has chipping along bottom and some of the author's name is missing, chipping along flap fold and minor chipping along top edge. Top/bottom spine also chipped; back cover has white background and is clean, listing the title in this horse series. Lower right bottom of the back has a chip, top edge is good. Flap folds top/bottom has chips and wearing along the folds. Inside front flap has synopsis of this title and back one has synopsis of the Sorrel Stallion. Great edition for the horse lover.

Top/bottom spine are NOT bent from shelf wear, nor the 4 corners.Pages all tight and clean and have very slight beginning of yellowing on the outside edges, not into the text. Advertisements for other Whitman publications are in the back. Endpapers are blue and yellow of the character in a mountain setting, riding with another person and his dog. Very nice book for your TV series collection.

Endpapers are plain gray, owners name on sticker on left endpaper and the right has her personal library number. Book is from an estate of a school teacher and her books are all marked in this fashion. Edge of side pages are uncut type. Pages all clean and tight. DJ is in a brodart slipcover. Minor crazing along bottom spine and top with tiny chips on the spine edge. 4 corner flap folds, top/bottom have minor chips and some rubbing along fold. 3 small closed tears, repaired reverse side of jacket. Very tiny hold on the front cover spine edge, toward the middle. Front cover is bright and colorful. Back cover is clean and lists other titles in this series. Back inside flap lists Rainbolw Classics titles, Front inside flap lists a synopsis of this title. Other stories in this title are: BROWN WOLF, STRENGTH OF THE STRONG, THE SHADOW AND THE FLASH, MOON-FACE, TO BUILD A FIRE, MAKE WESTING, TOO MUCH GOLD, A SON OF THE SUN, A RAID ON THE OYSTER PIRATES. Great book for the animal lover, good story of Alaska before statehood.

Frontpiece is high gloss paper picture of the man to whom the book was dedicated, with a date at the end of 1866. This is a story of the Great Rebellion ( Civil War). This edition is probably an early 1900's. No date on copyright page. 301 pages + advertisements. Most interesting of all is that the first few pages are out of order numerically, but are all there and you can see the thread, as the pages are stitched.!

Front cover is very bright and crisp. Back cover lists Boys and Girls fiction by this publisher. Back inside flap lists Every Child's Library books. Front inside flap is a synopsis of this story. This is the 3rd title of this series. I haven't found anymore titles other than listed on the back cover.

Illustrations in b/w with a color ( green) high gloss front piece of Black Beauty. All pages are tight and clean. Jacket is in a mylar slipcover and is poor. Top/bottom spine has chipping into the spine folds. 4 corner top/bottom flap folds are also slightly chipped. Inside jacket lists titles by this publisher of Books for Every Boy & Girl. You can see tape repair in 3 parts on the inside flap old of the back and two other places. Tape is not yellowed or brittle. Inside front flap lists Famous Books for Young Americans; back inside flap list books that every American should own. Back cover of jacket is list of Famous Books ofr Young Americans. Front cover of jacket is very colorful with wearing along lower edge. Good edition of a classic horse story.

Blue and white illustrations throughout. 95 pages all clean and tight. side outer edges have slight beginning of foxing. Very slight, though. Original copyright was 1940 and that was the year of the award.DJ is in a brodart slipcover and is very nice. All edges like new. Slight foxing on the reverse side of the jacket and a little on the flap folds. Inside flap is synopsis of this title and back flap are two reviews of the story and author. Front inside top corner is clipped. Orginal price sticker is still on jacket flap. Great edition for you young sea traveler.
