This author put together wonderful rhymes and poetry. The endpapers are colored illustrations on a black flowered background. Book is very good, with normal wearing of the cloth along the edges of the spine and the top/bottom spine are slightly bent. Four corners are good with a touch of rubbing. All pages are clean and tight. Very nice edition for your collection.

DJ is in a mylar cover and is poor.Chip on bottom spine, lower front edge, about 1/2" chip;top/bottom of flap folds have tiny chipping. Top spine, slightly rubbed, top front cover has about a 1" chip. Inside front flap is blank, except for ' printed in Great Britain'. Back inside flap lists other picture books by the author. Very nice edition.

Title page has printed date of 1894, and opposite page lists other books by this author. There are 6 chapters, no illutrations, 64 pages, all tight. Great story of little girl raised by a Lighthouse Keeper. Well preserved book for its age.

Pages are yellowed, like the endpapers but have no chips or writing. DJ is in brodart slipcover and is fair. Top/bottom spine have small chipping, less than 1/4' and they do go slightly into the spine edges. Front cover is colorful and has a closed slit from the top spine chipping. Some crazing along flap fold and on the lower corner edge. See scan. Back cover is a list of fiction books by this publisher and the back inside flap lists books from the Every Child's Library list from this publisher. Front inside flap is a synopsis of this title. Lovely book for it's age from the author of Heidi.
