This is a Rainbow edition by this publishing company. These Inidan legends are retold by the author as stated on the title page. This author called herself the ' Story Lady '. Beautiful colored endpapers of various animals of Inda on a black background in a floral border. The color illustrations are bordered much the same way. Like a tapestry. See scan. All the stories are complete, except, sadly to say, the ' Kingdom of Mouseland'. The color picture illustrations are there but page 41/42 is missing. the story starts on page 35 and ends on page 49. page 39/40 have been repaired on the edge by the binding and the outer edge. All other pages are perfect and no writing or repairs. The book is tight and clean. Spine little faded, from shelfwear and top/bottom spine showing slight beginning of fraying. Four corners, little rubbed. Covers are very nice, see scan. Very hard book to fine and considered rare among children's books.
