This is the 1st title in this delightful series by the author of the 1st Nancy Drew stories. Book is orange with black lettering. Top/bottom spine are slightly rolled from shelf wearing, 4 corners are good.Endpapers are plain and do have a very slight impression of where the DJ lays. Pages are clean and tight. Bottom pages outside edges have a couple of tiny brown spots. All pages clean and tight and there is a plain paper frontpiece. DJ is in a brodart slipcover. Top spine has about a 1/8' chip that takes the ' THE' out of the title. Bottom spine has small chip near the front spine edge. Front cover, top right corner in the the flap fold, also has a chip. Back cover is white background and clean and lists the Brownie Scout series by this author and the Girl Scout Series by this author. Inside front flap is a list of this series and has been price clipped on the top right corner, Back inside flap is a note to the parents. Very nice edition to this hard to find series.
