This title is the 1st book after the preprimer, and is called the Basic Primer. All vocabulary in the preprimer is repeated in this book. Book is beige cloth with color picture front and the Alice and Jerry Books title on the binding side in red letters on white block. Front and back cover are still colorful. Wearing on the top/bottom spine and 4 corners. Endpapers are plain and front ones have the school paper stamp ane the names of several students, neatly printed in ink ( obviously by the teacher. Table of Contents: ALICE AND JERRY; SURPRISE; ANIMALS; BETSY LEE; MR. CARL AND JACK; GOOD NIGHT. There are some finger smudges on these pages and the title page and the 1st two pages of the 1st story, otherwise pages are clean and tight. Great edition for your 1st grader. Good supplemental reading.
