Book is wrapped pictorial binding ; top/bottom spine slightly rolled from shelving; 4 corners good; endpapers are pictorial in color; b/w illustrations throughout; all pages are clean and tight; dj is in mylar jacket and is fair; color is bright on dj and matches the pictorial boards of the book; top/bottom spine have minor chipping; 3" closed tear ( repaired from reverse side ) on the front , top, left corner; front cover has gold seal of the junior book award; 4 corner flap folds have minor chipping; dj is clean; inside flap is synopsis of this title, lower right corner has been clipped; back inside flap is list of other stories by this author. Very nice edition to this classic horse story.
